Remember, First Research is for INDUSTRY information. You may get results when searching a company name if the company is very significant in the industry, but you most likely will not get useful results.
Due to changes in the First Research database, use this format to cite it rather than the format shown on the Citing Sources in Business Databases guide.
Sample Citation:
First Research. (n.d.). Colleges & Universities [Industry report]. Retrieved September 13, 2024, from First Research database.
First Research uses its own terminology for industry names that is not as nuanced as NAICS or SIC. If you aren't familiar with the name for a particular industry that is used by First Research, my recommendation is to use the "Browse Report Categories" option in the upper left to find the report or reports that most closely align with the industry you are researching.
Once you found the industry you're looking for, to download the complete report, look for the PDF icon in the upper right corner of the page.
You can also start a search on the main page. If you're not sure what specific industry to search, use the bottom search box labeled "Search Term." Enter the search terms and click the Add button, then click the View Results button in the upper right corner.
If you know the NAICS or other code, you can change the category in the third search box to search using that code.
You are unlikely to use the "Title" or "Report Text" search boxes.
