HDMI Cords

These TVs require two HDMI cords to function. One, a shorter cord, connects the back of the TV to the wall. The second cord, a longer one, connects patrons' laptop/tablets to the HDMI port in the outlet on the wall (in rooms 103A and 104 the outlet for the HDMI cord is under the table). The first cord should always stay in the room. The second cord needs to be borrowed at the circulation desk. Cords are stored in the loanable tech drawer (the bottom drawer of the gray cabinet to the right of the circulation computer).

If the patron cannot get their screen to show on the TV, the first thing you should check is whether the cord that connects the TV to the wall is present. Students frequently steal this cord. If it is not, the patron can connect their device directly to the TV. Submit an IT ticket for a new cord.

If the patron cannot get their screen to show on the TV, but the HDMI cord is present, cycle through channels on the TV to see if you can get to one that works. The controls are located on the right side of the TV (when facing the screen) on the back.

If the TV is still not working, submit a ticket to IT.
