InterLibrary Loan allows for the borrowing and lending of books and other materials between libraries. At Heterick Memorial Library, this service is free for faculty, staff and students at Ohio Northern University. Community users should contact their local public libraries for interlibrary loan requests.

Requesting Books/Journal Articles

Books and journal articles not available at Heterick Memorial Library or through OhioLINK/SearchOhio can be requested through InterLibrary Loan. Before submitting an InterLibrary Loan, check to see if the item is available through Heterick Memorial Library or OhioLINK using the links below:

Books and other physical items generally arrive in 1-3 weeks. You will receive an email when it arrives and it will be available for pick-up at the Circulation Desk. Journal articles and other electronic items generally arrive in 4-5 days.

Copyright Statement

Under certain conditions specified in the United States Copyright law (Title 17, United States Code) libraries and archives may be authorized to furnish a photocopy or reproduction. One of the conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction may not be used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research and that only one copy can be provided for scholarly purposes, unless copyright fees are paid.
