RELG 1061: The Bible and the Environment

Articles and Databases

Articles can be found in the library's databases. Library databases are searchable, contain citation information (author, title, publisher, abstract, date published, etc) and often contain full-text articles. Databases can be multi-disciplinary covering many subjects or they can be subject-specific focusing on a specific area of study.

Combining databases:

For topics that include elements that are part of various discipline's subject-specific databases, or to search across all of the subject-specific databases for a particular subject (example: there are multiple education databases and multiple environmental databases), databases that use the same platform allow users to create custom databases combinations to fit their specific needs. Most of Heterick's databases use the EBSCO platform, so most of them can be combined for a search that is broader than a single database but not as broad as SearchONU. The SearchONU mega database:

SearchONU: Always a good place to test your topic. SearchONU is the library's database that searches most of the other databases, e-journals, e-books, the POLAR catalog, as well as the OhioLINK catalog. For this assignment, when testing your topic in SearchONU, look at the results to see which database they are originating in, and then choose than specific database from the A-Z database listing.
