Systems Overview

Information listed on the Systems page pertains to the various library systems and digital initiatives, and technology used and housed within Heterick Memorial Library. The information here is managed by the Systems & Digital Initiatives Librarian. The guide listed below includes a variety of information, tutorials and guidelines, and documentation created by either the librarian or pulled from the respective vendors' website or manual.

The three core library systems administered by the Systems Librarian are the Sierra ILS (which is shared between Heterick and the Taggart Law Library), DigitalCommons@ONU, and the Heterick Library website. Systems co-managed by the librarian include EBSCOadmin and the suite of products from Springshare. Information on these systems have been created, collected, and added to their respective pages below.  As these systems have overlap with E-Resources and Cataloging, some of the information within the guide may be shared across these daprtments.

Additionally, while much of the library's technology is managed by ONU's Office of Information Technology, the library does still allow patrons to checkout some pieces of technology, including phone chargers, HDMI cables, and DVD and/or Blu-Ray players. As such, most technology information listed on the pages below pertains to this management of the technology collection, rather than the maintenance of any particular library technology.
