Objectives

The Resource Promotion Marketing Committee aims to:

  • Promote greater usage of library resources;
  • Promote awareness of library resources;
  • Increase usage of high-quality research resources by our students to improve the quality of research projects and papers. 

Strategies

To promote the library’s resources, the Resource Promotion Committee will use the following strategies:

Internal:

  • Provide additional training for circulation staff and student workers on databases available.
  • Focus on one electronic resource and one component of the physical collection each month

External:

  • Highlight different resources on the library’s homepage
  • Promote resources through social media
  • Add relevant electronic resource information to displays
  • Provide promotional bookmarks and postcards to students
  • Giveaways of free promotional material from vendors
  • Provide targeted marking to faculty via email messages, department meetings, liaison meetings, and posters
  • Special library events
  • Digital flyers in digital sign
  • WONB service messages

Assessment and Evaluation

Evaluation of monthly campaigns will compare usage statistics from previous years to determine if there has been an increase in usage. The amount of promotional materials distributed, attendance at events, and librarian attendance at department meetings will also be considered.

On a yearly basis, the committee will assess the success of various strategies and determine what changes should be made.
